Rothwells Bar And Grill

Ben Russell, a hospitality veteran, is opening his restaurant. He partnered with Dan Clark, Woolloongabba’s 1889 Enoteca, to open Rothwell’s Bar & Grill. This sophisticated bar and restaurant is a great addition to the city.
Rothwell took over the space where Jamie’s Italian used to be. Rothwell’s was inspired by classic venues around the globe, such as London’s The Savoy Grill or The Wolseley. These are timeless dining rooms that offer great food and excellent service. The space is classic and reminiscent of these iconic restaurants, but it’s more than the food. The main dining area features a large marble bar with a U-shaped shape. A Foyer Bar can also be accessed from the door for those who just want a drink or snack.
You can order anything from a quick lunch or a long, wine-fuelled meal, including steak tartare, crab with potato crisps, and crab with potato and saffron. Or, enjoy mains like Moreton Bay bugs and Cafe de Paris butter, roast lamb and other meats. Pasta isn’t quite out of fashion. There are a few creative Italian dishes like gnocchi and blue cheese sauce, tagliarini, sea urchin, caviar and butter, and plenty of steaks on the grill. We are swooning over the beef Wellington in red wine sauce. This is a stunning dish, and it’s best for two.
Are you looking for a drink? Rothwell’s Foyer Bar claims to have the best martini and a selection of classic cocktails such as old-fashioned and Hemingway daiquiris. We can’t forget the wine list or the Armagnac cart available for late-night digestifs.
