Instant Pot Millet
You can have fluffy millet every time with an Instant Pot. We’ll show you how.
Instant Pot Millet
We prefer to cook millet with the Instant Pot because it is fast, fluffy, and does not turn mushy.
What you should know about:
- Ratio = millet to water ratio = one part millet to 1 3/4 parts of water
- Cook Time = ten minutes
- Release for 10 minutes, then release the remaining pressure
It is great in salads, bowls, and stir-fries. This grain is also great with almost any main dish, such as curries or soups. Cake is also possible!
Ingredients
- 1 cup millet
- Use vegetable stock to add more flavor.
Instructions
- Stir to avoid sticking. Add millet, water, or vegetable broth to the instant pot. Pressure cook for 10 minutes on high (the Instant Pot will pressurize for about 8 minutes before cooking starts).
- After the timer has gone off, let it naturally release for 10 minutes. Then, release any pressure that remains. Once the steam has escaped, carefully remove the lid.
- You can use it immediately to make stir-fries or salads. The leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to five days or in the freezer for up to one month. Reheat on a stovetop in a pan, adding coconut aminos or oil as necessary to prevent sticking.
