Butter Cake Recipe

This butter cake recipe tastes rich and delicious. You can make it for many purposes and even frosted. Soft fruit such as blueberries and strawberries can be added.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Two teaspoons of baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup butter, room temperature

Two large eggs, room temperature

One teaspoon of vanilla extract

3/4 cup milk, room temperature

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175° C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish. Line the bottom with parchment paper or wax paper—dust lightly with flour.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.

Use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar until they are light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one by one, beating well between each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.

Mix flour mixture in half-cup batches. Add milk alternately. Beat batter briefly after each addition until it is well blended.

Put the batter in the pan.

Bake for 30 minutes in the oven or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool on a pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack and let cool completely.
